An event organised by residents for residents
CRAG25 was held at Chester Racecourse on 14th October 2025 – the third in the series of the Chester Residents’ Associations Group’s conferences “by residents for residents”. The theme and focus of CRAG25 was ‘what makes Chester tick’ and how this fosters a sense of belonging and connection between the city, its features, and its people. Throughout the day we explored the most important insights for residents, the progress made, the options for shaping the future, and highlighted interventions that could steer Chester towards a more beneficial, prosperous, and inclusive future.
We were grateful again to be hosted by the Chester Race Company and for the introductory welcome from their CEO Louise Stewart.
Presentations and input from a wide range of speakers included Jamie Christon DL (CEO of Chester Zoo), Cllr Sherin Akhtar (Lord Mayor of Chester), Cllr Richard Beacham and the One City Plan work group leaders, Young Citizens from six local schools, representatives from five local charities and of course questions from and discussions with and amongst the attendees.
